Here at Ilkley Tuition, which is part of the MME group, has been selected as a DfE-Approved tuition provider for the National Tutoring Programme. It is important to note that only schools are eligible to participate in the programme, and enrollment must be completed through subject teachers rather than parents.Currently, MME offers NTP tutoring for maths, English, and science specifically for GCSE students, with the possibility of expanding the programme in the coming weeks and months. If you are a parent interested in providing additional support for your child, which is fully funded through their school, we suggest contacting your child's school directly and inquiring about MME as a provider.

What is the National Tutoring Programme?

Initially designed to assist students in catching up after the extended break caused by the pandemic, the National Tutoring Programme has demonstrated to be of great help and has since been expanded to provide continuous support and tuition to schools. The NTP is a government initiative that seeks to provide schools with the necessary funding to offer 1-2-1 or group tuition, ensuring that their students achieve academic success.

How does the NTP funding work?

Schools receive £162 per pupil, which can be used to support any student through the National Tutoring Programme. This funding is allocated at three intervals throughout the school year, in September, December, and April. Schools can claim up to a maximum of £18 per hour per student for the tuition provided, covering about 60% of the total tuition cost.

Is the NTP tuition online or in person and is it in groups?

The National Tutoring Programme offers various options, such as in-person 1-2-1 tuition and online group lessons. Typically, the in person 1-2-1 tuition is more expensive than participating in online group lessons.
